  • What kind of licensed daycare are you?
Little Fish Daycare is a licensed childcare facility (multi-age childcare) for 30 months to five years old. Classified as a child care center, we meet the regulatory standards of a childcare facility to meet the health, safety and well-being of children. This means that staff must hold a current Early Childhood Certificate with current childcare First Aid at a minimum. Furthermore, our program of activities are developmentally appropriate and support the development of your child's intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being. Children at Little Fish Daycare are outside from 10:30am to 12:00pm and 3:30pm to 5:30pm most days in all weather. We teach children to be independent and self-sufficient, meaning we help them learn to dress themselves, feed themselves, do activities themselves, and find a teacher if they need help.
  • What else does your daycare offer?
Situated a block away from Trout Lake, Copley Orchard, and with a big back yard, we will offer outdoor education opportunities for children to explore growing food and natural materials. We also offer field trips! Parents will be required to provide appropriate gear for their children. There is no such thing as bad weather.
  • Fees
We participate in the BC Government's Child Care Reduction Fee Initiative and accept the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) which can reduce your fees based on your household's income. Fees below include the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) amounts. Fee for 30 months to 36 months (2.5 years to 3 years of age): As of September 1, 2024 with CCFRI reductions $1127 Fee for 36 months plus (3 years to 5 years of age): As of September 1, 2024 with CCFRI reductions $1170 Our monthly fee is higher than other child care providers because our adult to child ratios are higher, employing two full-time Early Childhood Educators to care for eight children instead of one Early Childhood Educator. Furthermore, we pay well above a Living Wage as defined by Vancity.
